New type of blanket scarf?

So I have tried arm knitting. It is amazing. I'll be posting about that process pretty soon!

Anyways, the scarf is totally warm and comfy and fabulous and gigantic and..... like a blanket. Therefore, I think its only proper to also call it a blanket infinity scarf.

Oversized accessories are always fun and especially when it is what adds the bit of color to the outfit. I made the scarf with blue reluctantly, (basically the craft store only have blue and gray..) but I am pleased with the turn-out, especially with this outfit.
The jacket was a thrift store find and I love the 3/4 length sleeves! So chic with a long sleeve underneath. My sweater was my sisters but she never wore it soooo, MINE NOW! I accentuated my waist with this yellow skinny belt and my black pencil skirt. Loving this outfit for the winter, and as long as there is no snow on the ground.... I'll be stomping around campus in my little black booties.
These earrings are from my friend Ashley's sister. She is a jewelry designer for Square Peg Meg! Everyone check her out.... she is super talented and I am in LOVE with the earrings.

'Tis the season of the Poncho

Okay, technically this isn't a poncho... but that's what all the non-patternmakers have been calling it these days. It's really just a wrap, which to me makes more sense anyways...
since yah know, you wrap it around yourself...

But anyways, I LOVE IT. It was another thrift store find a couple weekends ago and its reversible, comfortable, and flat out fashionable!

I threw it on with some jeggings, booties, and a hand-me-down shirt from my older sis. (Funny story, my mom actually mailed me the shirt last week. Along with the shirt, the contents of the care package included 26 crochet hooks, 4 skeins of yarn, 1 bill, and 3 other shirts... this is what my life is becoming :P)

Shades of Blue

Don't you just love a good graphic print skirt? And finding it brand new, in your size, and at a thrift store... #swoon.

I went to a super huge thrift store by Marymount last weekend with a couple friends and totally made it out with 8 articles of clothing for $40! Among my finds, was this FAB skirt.

I figured I'd throw it on with my lovely Ann Taylor blouse, black tights, and Just Fab boots.... and off I went to a day of work and classes.

HalloweenFest

One of the really cool service events that Marymount puts on is Halloween Fest. Over 300 underpriviledged kids living in the area are invited to come trick-or-treating on our campus. The event involves the whole campus but it put on by the Campus Ministry office.
Now, for those of you who don't know, Marymount is a Catholic institution. Like most religious colleges, you don't have to be that religious denomination to attend. MU has a large population that is not Catholic actually. Personally, I am not Catholic either, however I enjoy attending the different CMA (Campus Ministry Association) events. Especially the service events, since Catholicism is really big into serving the community.

Last summer, when I was training for giving admissions tours, one of the seniors told me that she likes to tell families that "Marymount is as Catholic as you want to make it." Personally, I thought that was an awesome way to brand our Catholic Identity! I don't make my experiences here very religious, but other students do...and both ways are totally great! Marymount and all it's fabulousness is what you make of it, so I'm just trying to experience it all before my time here is up.
For Halloween Fest, everyone volunteering was wearing costumes! The theme was Disney, so the CMA staff were all Disney characters; including Elsa & Anna, Peter Pan & Captain Hook, and even Esmeralda & the Hunchback of Notre Dame. Other students dressed up as cowgirls, police officers, devils, cats, witches, and  A TON more.
I think you can guess who I was channeling this Halloween... and if not, the I was:

Fall Transitioning

Again, I've been seriously MIA... sorry!

But let's talk about how AMAZING it is that the weather is actually fall temps and we can actually wear fall things... during the fall. Well okay, this outfit isn't totally fall-y. But it's still transitioning from summer, and having clothes that work for both seasons is important anyways.
The scarf was a gift from a friend last christmas and I LOVE it! It's not actually an infinity scarf (I just tied the ends together to make it a loop!). The weaving technique used to make it adds volume and texture to the weave, and the colors are so great. The rest of the outfit was pulled together through the scarf.
Purple tank top underneath the blouse pulls out the scarf's purple. The blue accent necklace brings out the blue/ aqua tones, and the green vest with the green tones in the scarf.
To make it all the more fall-y, I threw on some moccasins. #1 because they're comfy, #2 because I'm lazy and they were the closest shoes to my door.

Campus Visit Day

Hello everyone!!

Sorry I have been slacking again on the posts, but college is pretty tough sometimes! I have promised myself to post at least once a week though.
This past Saturday was Campus Visit Day at Marymount. It was our first one of the semester, and the first time a lot of the new ambassadors had given any group tours. Pretty exciting day to be honest.

The students who come to CVD are high school juniors, high school seniors, even college transfer students who are interested in Marymount. The day has a resource fair with all the different majors and offices at MU, breakout sessions for different MU-related points, and of course... campus tours! That's where I come in! I've been an ambassador for a year, so I'm pretty used to giving large group tours (Have you ever walked 30 middle schoolers around a college campus and tried to explain why college dorms were a thing, and why everyone didn't just take the bus to their classes? Yeah, that was a true test of my communication skills.)
This CVD I only had a tour of two families. One was from Boston (YAY!) and one was from the NoVA area. Unfortunately neither student was interested in fashion :( but they complimented me on my styling of the polo! I told them that I hate dressing like everyone else, so just a polo and khakis is totally not going to fly with me.
Anyone who was a college ambassador knows that you have to stay on schedule! A watch and a little bit of marked time stamps on my hand will certainly do the trick.
Too bright for the name tag to be seen, but you guys know who I am anyways...
Also this vest has saved me so many times... the pockets hold key cards, room keys, cell phones, program schedules, I probably could have fit my water bottle to be honest :P

My weekend home!

Since it was Fall Break... and the air plane tickets were wicked cheap... I got to go home this weekend! The weekend was composed of seeing my two very best friends, Brenna and Meagan, and most of my family (Grace was at school and John was at work).
With Brenna and Meagan, I went to see the movie Annabelle at the Drive-in (yes those things exist in Massachusetts) and I definitely screamed more than I probably should have. The three of us had seen The Conjuring together last summer at the Drive-in, so seeing Annabelle was obviously a must. Minus the fact that we were talking through half the movie and the other half I was screaming, I'd say it was worth it.

The next day Meagan surprised us (and by surprised, I mean she forgot to tell us and thus we were not prepared at all) and told us that her and her family were going hiking on Mt. Wachusett Sunday. Me being me, I had only brought home one pair of shoes that matched all my outfits... all except my "hiking" outfit. Luckily enough, I am the same size shoe as her mom, and Brenna and Meagan are the same size. So, off we went on a lovely hiking trip... Here are some photos!
Brenna told Meagan to make it look like she was running from something... lol
The rest of my break was spent at home between going over Gramma Jeannie's, showering without using shower shoes, dinner with Mom & Tommy, pumpkin picking in the yard, hanging out with the cats, teaching myself how to crochet, going to the 4-H clubhouse, and of course taking outfit photos with the doggie!

Here are some photos of various places around our yard that I thought were pretty darn cool... what parts your favorite??

And of course I can't forget about my outfit! I only brought one carry-on so I literally had 3 outfits to choose from... but this one is pretty darn comfy & FAB!

Welker was not so amused by me though :P
I LOVE the pleather shoulder details! And I accented them with the pleather tank top for layering (its cold in Massachusetts!) and also with my textured black clutch.
Couldn't resist a #FromWhereIStand moment...
This scarf is EVERYTHING I tell you... legit its so comfortable and its soooo big and oversized I can wrap it around like three times. Must-Have for this winter.
And one last shot of Welker... who thought playing tug-o-war was more fun than taking photos :P
